Matthew Damon

Dr. Matthew Damon, Psy.D. – Anxiety Therapist
Boise Office

I have a passion for working with individuals suffering from severe anxiety. The effectiveness of exposure therapy and other evidence-based treatments makes working in this area highly rewarding and enjoyable for me. I have sought out opportunities to work in this specialty ever since I developed an affinity for anxiety and OCD treatment during my graduate training while working at Pacific Anxiety Group in California.

I am very confident in the ability of my clients to improve and I value my role in supporting them throughout the treatment process. While I can be very direct, I also highly value clients’ directness with me. I know that you are the expert on you, and I look forward to working as a team as we strive to reach your goals.

Along with my previous training in private practice, I also have experience treating anxiety in multiple VA clinic and community hospital settings.  I received my Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Utah, and both my Master’s and Doctorate Degrees from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium in Palo Alto, CA.  I completed an APA-Accredited internship at the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System in Biloxi, MS.  I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Anxiety Solutions of Denver.  I am a licensed psychologist in Idaho, license #PSY203215, and Colorado, license #5302.

I’m a huge sports fan, both watching and playing.  I also love anything related to aviation and I hold a commercial pilot’s license.  At home, I’m lucky enough to have an amazing wife, one son, and two crazy dogs, a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
