Claire Dean Sinclair

Dr. Claire Dean Sinclair, Psy.D.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidenced-based treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders among children, teens, and adults.  I also specialize in treating body-focused repetitive behaviors such as compulsive hair-pulling and skin-picking, as well as tic disorders.  I received my bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver.  I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Children’s Hospital Colorado where I trained in the OCD and Anxiety Disorders Clinic.  Following graduation, I completed a post-doctoral clinical fellowship at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington in Silver Spring, MD, a leading clinic in the mid-Atlantic region for the treatment of OCD, anxiety disorders and related behavioral problems.  I then returned to Denver and joined Anxiety Solutions of Denver in 2012.  I serve on the Board of Directors of OCD Colorado, which is the local affiliate of the International OCD Foundation. I am also the director of our clinic’s selective mutism program, which includes Courageous Kids Camp, a therapeutic summer camp for children with selective mutism.

One of the reasons I chose to specialize in treating OCD and anxiety disorders is that exposure therapy for these problems has been shown to be very effective.  I love working with my clients and seeing them get better.  Successful therapy for anxiety disorders requires that clients face their fears, and I feel honored to help people tap into bravery that they might not have known they possessed in order to live more fulfilling lives. I am originally from the Washington, DC area and moved to Denver in 2006.  I love the outdoors, and try to spend as much time as I can hiking, skiing, or biking.  I enjoy cooking and am always looking for my next favorite recipe.  I live in Denver with my husband and our two children.
