Psychologist/therapist position available at our Boise office

We are a group private practice specializing in anxiety disorders and OCD. We have offices in multiple cities and we are seeking a new therapist for our Boise office.

We offer all the perks of private practice (good pay, flexibility in setting your schedule, lots of vacation time, generally a low-risk clientele to work with) but without any of the pain points of private practice (having to do marketing to get clients, administrative work, startup costs and overhead, managing a business). You also get to be part of a great team of people to work with and have consultation and support readily available.

We take care of all of the work of marketing and getting clients. We have a dedicated administrative staff that handles scheduling and billing (for all of our offices), so administrative work for our therapists is kept to a minimum. Other than training/consultation and minimal paperwork requirements, your time will be spent doing the actual clinical work.

Your client load will be almost entirely clients with anxiety disorders and OCD. A small percentage of your caseload will also be working with PTSD, trichotillomania, and skin picking disorder. All treatment is one-on-one individual therapy. Most of your clients will be adults but we would ideally like someone who is open to seeing adolescent clients as well. Someone open to seeing younger children would also be a major plus.

We are most interested in finding someone who already has specialized training and experience treating anxiety and OCD using exposure therapy, but we are open to applicants with less experience with this specialty. We also have a strong emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, so if you have experience with ACT, that is helpful as well. 

Depending on level of prior experience with anxiety/OCD, exposure therapy, and ACT; there will be a training/case consultation component for the first 6 months to a year to train you up on doing this type of work.

We would ideally like to find a licensed psychologist but are open to Master’s-level therapists as well.  At minimum, a master’s or doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology or social work is required.

Starting compensation would also be based on experience level. Our therapists’ compensation is based on a percentage of the fees that they collect from clients. If you are a psychologist who already has experience and training in treating anxiety and OCD, you would earn 60% of the fees that you collect. We will go over the full math of how this works out during your interview, but with a full caseload, that comes out to $100,000 per year. Those with master’s degrees and/or less experience and training in anxiety and OCD would start at 50 to 55% of fees collected, depending on degree and level of prior experience, and eventually go up to 60% after training is complete.

Qualifications we are looking for, in order of importance:

  • Passion for treating anxiety and OCD and strong desire to spend your career in this area.
  • Prior experience specializing in anxiety and OCD
  • Behavioral theoretical orientation
  • Training in and experience using exposure therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
